4 Foods is the probably the oldest Keralite restaurant in the city. It serves authentic and tasty Kerala cuisine including vegetable, chicken and mutton stews, Appams, Fish Moilee, Puttu, Dry Mutton Masala and Kerala Paranttas. The restaurant is located on the busy S G Highway but it is in the service lane so it can be difficult to locate. The ambience of the place is simple with traditional elephant headgear decorations, which are used during Onam to dress up the elephants, adorning the wall on one side. This place serves North Indian, Chinese and Mughlai food also but it is best known for its Kerala food. On Sundays, the place is full of Malayalee families who come here to try the traditional Kerala sadya which is served here at lunchtime. There are also several other Kerala dishes which are served here only on Sundays. But many Kerala dishes are also served here daily. The service is fast but it can do with a bit more training of staff on information about the dishes, etc. When you come here, the Kerala Fish Moilee is a must try with Appam. Also, try the Chicken Chettinad with Kerala Parantha. You should also try the Mutton Masala, Chicken Masala, Fish stew and Vegetable stew which is also eaten with Appam.
