Madhavrao is a newly opened Maharashtrian restaurant located on Prahladnagar Road. It is a two-storied restaurant with the stairs to the second floor from inside the ground floor restaurant. As soon as you enter this restaurant you are transported to a bygone era. The furniture is all designed in the style which was trendy a century ago. Also, the side tables are like the study tables made decades ago. The walls have pictures of Maharashtrians and other pictures which are obviously decades old. Also, there is a large brass gramophone in the restaurant. All in all, it is a really cool looking restaurant with an old age charm. The restaurant uses bell metal utensils and also crockery. The food is also served in plates and bowls made of bell metal, which is Kansa. This restaurant serves snacks and combo meals all through the day. Some of the items which you might want to try are 'Sabudana Wada', 'Kadhi Samosa' and 'Kothimbir Wada', which is made of chana powder and coriander greens along with spices. It tastes great. Also try the 'Goan Xitachi Bakri', 'Kanda Bhajiya', 'Sabudana Khichdi' and also 'Crispy Patra'. All these are popular Maharashtrian snacks. If you want to have something more filling try the 'Batata Bhaji Srikhand Puri' or the 'Zunka Bakri', which is a stable of the common man in Maharastra. You could also go for 'Fada Khichdi Dahi'. Fada is crushed wheat which is used for wheat porridge.
