Wok on Fire’s newest outlet opened up on Sindhu Bhawan Road recently. This is a vegetarian restaurant which has self-service. The place is done up in traditional colours of this chain meaning black and red predominantly. The interiors of this compact eatery are smart with a modern touch. The restaurant uses stylish crockery and it has a good presentation but the staff still seems to be on a learning curve. Since it is a self-service restaurant, my feeling is that the staff thinks they have to just stand so you will not get drinking water till you ask and simple things like that which makes a guest feel welcome. So, the service is poor but that could be beginning woes. The Chinese food served here is Indianised which they clearly state on their signboard which states that they serve Indo Chinese food. The dishes are spicy so if you want mild food, do inform them about your preference. The menu has lots of soup choices, you could try the 'Burnt Garlic Soup' or the 'Crispy Wonton Soup'. Even the 'Tibetan Thupka' is a good choice. This is a vegetarian restaurant so expect to get lots of vegetables in your soup. The Momos come in 3 versions - 'Steamed', 'Fried' and 'Tossed'. Try the new item on the menu in the Momo section, the 'Spinach and Creamy Cheese Momo'. There are lots of cottage cheese based starters. Try the 'Sizzle Drizzle Cottage Cheese'. The menu has a large choice of gravies and rice or noodles, so choose as per your food preference.
