The spices, aromatic herbs and delicious sauces have captured our hearts long ago which is the reason why the Asian restaurants in this nation are so many and so beloved. A bowl of steaming rice with hot chilly chicken is anybody’s idea of a perfect comfort meal resulting in abundance of Asian restaurants in the Bengaluru city and the most popular of them is ‘Ginseng’. Ginseng is the ideal family dining restaurant located at Royal Orchid Hotel, HAL Airport Road. The restaurant is visited religiously by the parade of hungry families who consider this place as a family tradition. The deliciousness of the fare certainly helps the matters. The charming traditional décor puts Ginseng on the map of culinary buffs who like to sit and observe the enchanting pieces of the culture around them. A large spacious room is decked up with a life size golden Buddha effigy flanked by Chinese blue pillars.

The menu of Ginseng is a wonderful blend of Japanese, Chinese and Thai fare. Each cuisine gets an equal platform on the menu and gets to impress the patrons with its hidden delights. Japanese delicacies opens the menu with its sake maki, crabstick sashimi, cruncy salmon roll, yasai maki, golden avocado roll, ebi nigiri, dragon roll and spicy tuna roll. Commence on first course with malay laska lemak soup, chicken in golden basket, chongoing chilli mushrooms, pan fried chilli fish, stir-fried lamb wood ear mushroom, tom kha, crackling spinach, gaeng kew wan, spiced vegetable skewers, drums of heaven, xin jiang lamb, hunan clear wonton soup, twice cooked Szechwan pork, spicy Thai curry potatoes, sambal udang prawn and chili padi corn kernels. These drool-worthy appetizers are beautifully prepared maintaining their authentic integrity.

After the satisfying first course move onto the fulfilling main course which showcases dishes like spicy ginger fish, mushroom trio in ginger wine sauce, chicken in almond, spicy mustard fish, Burmese prawn curry, brassica with tausi sauce, kung pao chicken, Singaporean chilli prawns, crispy water chestnut with chilly plum sauce, chilli oyster sauce and gulai kambing. Team it up with Japanese sticky rice, chilli basil noodle, yaki udon or burnt garlic fried rice. You can even try Ginseng’s signature dishes. Bring this superb evening to an end with tub tim grob, fried ice-cream or darshan with ice cream. Ginseng will not empty your wallet but will deduct a decent chunk so be prepared.
