You cannot expect to find a 100% authentic Vietnamese restaurant in the city. But given that there aren't all that many options to begin with, Hanoi is an okay place to start if you are in Whitefield. Try the stuffed cabbage soup, steamed rice rolls, lau nong hot pot, and the rose petal ice cream. Or go for their buffet and dig into their papaya salad and the pumpkin soup. The pho is not the best, but worth a shot. Play it safe with their curries (the tamarind crab gravy is decent) with some rice. For dessert, order their banana fritters with coconut cream.
