A bicycle, casual seating, board games and books – these are what greets the diner on entering Hungry Walker. With a balcony seating area that affords one a view of busy 100 Feet Road, one can while away the hours here, eating freshly prepared dishes and watching the world go by. Helmed by a young Malaysian Chef, Hungry Walk offers the opportunity to eat home-style Malay food. When the Chef is around, make sure to have a chat with him about Malay food and ask his opinion on what to order. Start your meal with the 'Jumbo Prawn', then order the 'Prawn or Squid Grill', with a choice of black pepper or teriyaki sauce. From the mains, the 'Char Kway Tiao', a rice noodle and prawns dish, 'Nasi Lemak', 'Ikan Bakar' and 'Ayam Bakar' are all great ways to experience classic Malay food. Pasta, sandwiches and other non-Malay offerings also are available. Be sure to ask for what selection of teas they have, as the owners often have special Asian brands they bring back from visits to Malaysia. They also offer a vast selection of coffees. End the meal with one of the fresh baked goodies. Again for that Asian touch, go with the 'Egg Custard Tarts. When the Chef is around, make sure to have a chat with him about Malay food and ask his opinion on what to order.
