INSIDER TIPS

  • The large helping of 'Cold Burrata Cheese' with a base of cherry tomato relish, some arugula and roasted pine nuts will go really well with a 'Chardonnay'
  • You cannot go wrong with the 'Antipasti Platter' here which teams up pita bread with hummus, tabbouleh, babaghanoush, muhammara, tzatziki and the classic spinach and cheese fatayers. A lovely platter to share
  • The 'Pepper Lamb Chops' are flavorful. Do make sure you do not waste a minute digging in lest they become cold

Veterans of Bangalore will talk about Mynt with a hint of nostalgia. That old world charm, with a touch of the British Raj in the décor, is a setting behind several good memories. The restaurant recently underwent a décor change and so you know you have more room to sit indoors, a larger area for the buffet section, new flooring but all of the charm of the old place. For your starters, you can pick from a wide range – for the vegetarians and the meat eaters. The 'Marinated Olives' are great, the 'Grilled Artichoke' has slightly charred goodness to it and the classic combinations of 'Tomato-Mozzarella', as well as, the 'Watermelon Feta' are familiar and good choices. Meat eaters can pick from the 'Chicken and Pineapple Stick', some nice 'Seared Prawns and Leeks' and 'Proscuitto on Pumpernickel Toast'. Going the Mediterranean way you have the 'Iranian Chicken Kebab', which is chargrilled chicken paired with the carrot and raisin salad and some pan-seared onion. The 'Ottoman Spiced Grilled Prawns' are also a good bet, which comes with some fresh Arugula and a pomegranate reduction. Among the main course, the 'Grilled Salmon with Bearnaise Sauce' and the 'Pandi Curry' are nice. End on a sweet note with the warm 'Chocolate Pudding'. The 'Vanilla Bean Ice Cream' with it is great, with a boozy touch from the rum soaked raisins that are sprinkled on. Mynt has some interesting new cocktails on the menu – If you are one for tea-based cocktails, then the 'Milky Raisin the Roof' may be one to try. The 'Espresso Martini' packs quite a coffee punch and the 'Hot and Smoky Bloody Mary' comes with some table dramatics too.
