When it comes to good pan-Asian food that has remained consistent over time, there is nothing to rival Republic of Noodles (RON). It is a good thing then that the folks in and around Electronic City do not have to make the trek all the way to Central Bangalore for it. The predominantly red interiors are a mirror of the Ulsoor restaurant and the drinks come from Slounge, the lounge bar of Lemon Tree Hotels. Begin your meal with 'Thai Garlic Pepper Prawns' that are wok flashed and are a signature dish. Follow that up with the 'Banana Leaf Wrapped Grilled Fish in Balinese Spices'. If nothing, then just for the dip, opt for the 'Tori Katsu Chicken with Lemon Grass Chilli Dip'. Among the Dim sums, (which can be had steamed o pan-fried, try the 'Minced Pork Belly with Honey and Chilli' as well as the 'Tofu', 'Water Chestnuts' and 'Lemongrass' – the range of flavours on this one is brilliant. For the main course, go with the 'Bangkok Roast Pork with Chilli Jam'. Lovely chunks of pork, well balanced in terms of fat to meat ratio that has been marinated and grilled. It is the chilli jam that works wonders and trust me the caramelized onion sweet sauce that comes with it is priceless! The 'Vietnamese Pho in Pork' is a great choice too. A nice broth that seems to have been simmering for quite a while and had quite a body to it. The portion is substantial. The accompaniments make it all the more better. The 'Nonya Chicken Curry with Jasmine Rice' was just perfect. Creamy curry with a strong hit of basil and lemon, this is best had steaming hot.
