While The Paul Hotel is neatly tucked in one of the by-lanes of Ejipura, its interiors can transport you to a whole new world. Sidewalk Café arrives at its name, thanks to the placement of the restaurant on the ground floor atrium. The menu is extensive and international giving you a good deal of choice. Try the Chunky Seafood, Potato and Herb Soup – a fragrant soup with a grainy texture from the pureed potato and depth of flavour from seafood. It gets a slightly piquant touch from the cream used to finish off the soup. The Crab Cakes are stuffed to the crispy edges with crab meat and get a fantastic kick from the horseradish sauce. The place also makes a good version of the Philly Steak And Cheese Sandwich. There is a range of burgers and pizzas to choose from. If none of this works for you, then the Chinese selection may be something you are looking for. The Cardamom Crème Brulee is a great dessert to end on.
This place being near to my office I have been there 4 times already. I liked the ambiance it's very airy and spacious. We went there for buffet, the spread is not great but quality of the whatever food they serve in buffet is pretty good. Loved the soup most. They normally have corporate buffet offer, for that price the food and the ambiance is a good deal.
In for drink and some finger food with friends ? Then the Sidewalk Cafe is surely recommended.... the wide variety of food and drinks can be combined with some home brewed beers in a nice environment.
I have just fallen in love, with this place, off late. I've been there thrice in last three months, twice for team lunch and once with my wife, for a romantic lunch date. The Sidewalk Cafe offers one of the best interiors, with everything carefully chosen to suit the external world. The choice of florals gives you a soothing feeling as you enter and the relaxed ambiance gives you a refreshing feeling, while you settle down. The Buffet spread is top class. Their starters are something that you'd love to relish, simple yet compelling. None of them repeated on my three visits, which is definitely good and shows the capabilities of their Chef's. Paratha's from the live counter let's you munch them while they are piping hot, along with a wide variety of pickle's ( at least 8 of them ). The main course are quite lavish with varieties of curries, dal and a collection of indian breads, add to it the biryani rice. Desserts is one area that I'd like them to provide with two or more choices. But I'll the ones on offer as well, at this point of time.
My friends and I can't stop talking about our recent fantastic experience at the Sidewalk Cafe and Bar, especially as we accidentally discovered the place on a weekend nightout. I've dined at quite many popular places in Bangalore but nothing comes even close to matching the authenticity and quality of the wood-fired pizzas served here. Adding to the dining experience is the absolutely stunning interiors within the premises of The Paul hotel, besides a very friendly and attentive staff that made our time here a truly memorable one! P.S. - I have since visited them again and may I say this place is definitely a treat for your senses.
This place at The Paul, Domlur is our go to restaurant for a guaranteed relaxed evening out with great food, great service and good beer. The ambience is relaxed, not too noisy with comfy chairs and a huge tv showing some live sports. The Sunday alcoholic brunch is outstanding - spread is great, with North Indian options, pizza, great appam and stew and unlimited beer. On regular days, the wood fired oven pizza is great.
