I am not sure if people go here by default, unless you are living at Oakwood (the hotel attached to the restaurant) or just happen to be at UB city and every other restaurant is full. Having said that, I will not write off the food easily. They have an interesting aubergine soup if you like the vegetable, and penne cooked in a red curry with coconuts (Thai meets Italian, I suppose), and decent sandwiches. Plus, they do a range of Indian curries that come with rice or rotis, and a section is dedicated to Asian food. Try the thukpa from there, although I cannot guarantee authenticity.
Had been for a dinner with Family. Ordered for veg food. Starters (Panner Rubaiyath and Kumb Tikka Rasmonak) were quite good. The spice levels suited our taste. For the main course, we ordered Indian breads and Khazana-E-Lazzat. This dish was just awesome!!! It was a kofta that had both panner and mushrooms combined. The service was upto the mark. Overall, a nice fine dining experience.
Visited here along with my friends for lunch.the restaurant ambience & service is too good.should try their Indian food which is amazing.
Was here with my wife for lunch on a Friday. This place is actually a service apartment which has an attached restaurant. Restaurant had seating near the windows in partially circular shape, and seating at the center of the restaurant like any other place. Menu had mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian with more dishes on the non-veg side. Service needs a lot of improvement - we ordered water melon juice and got pineapple instead. We ordered red thai curry with vegetables and got chicken instead. We ordered 1 chocolate brownie and were given 2. Staff replaced with correct orders but we had to point out every time. Vegetable palav, brownie were very delicious but Thai curry needed improvement.
This has been my favourite for the past 4 years. A great place for some sumptuous cuisine to satisfy your taste buds and chill. The ambiance is amazing, seating quite relaxing and the staff very courteous and accommodating. The menu has all the essentials and the chef is up to it to cook something up for you in case there is a special demand not on the menu. It feels that you can actually take up a book and catch up on some reading once in a while and sip on your wine or beer. Not to forget the fact that the music is is just loud enough not to bother you and not let you be disturbed by other guests conversation. A truely satisfying experience every time I visit the place which is quite often.
Attached to the Oakwood, Soul City is a good place to eat if you run out of other good places in UB City. Within a very short walk are a group of amazing places to eat in UB City and the JW next door. Soul City had good food and good service. I recommend it after you have tried the other great places nearby.
