Located right on 100 feet road in JP Nagar, Underpass has a treehouse vibe, and greenery and trees alongside stone and wood to make it seem like a haven in the midst of the crowded city. Since it is predominantly alfresco dining, you likely find patrons smoking, so do keep that in mind when being seated. They feature an extensive bar menu with all the usual spirits, wine, and beers. The cocktails are what one should order here – potent and well made, they have the classics like 'Long Island Iced Tea' and 'Whiskey Sours', 'flavoured Margaritas' and 'Mojitos'. But the most interesting is 'The Underpass Specials', which bring together unique flavours and still pack a punch. 'Daddy’s Dance', with vodka, rum and tequila blended with aromatic herbs, won us over. For those who like sweeter cocktails, the 'Outer Ring' with rum and caramel, banana and orange flavours, as well as 'Upper Crust', a gin and orange liqueur drink with hazelnut, are sure to find favour. The food is a mix of Chinese, Indian and Continental. The 'Crispy Broccoli with Coconut and Lime Sauce' is a great starter, as is the 'Bharwan Khumb', a veggie stuffed mushroom dish. Both take traditional tandoor finger food and add a twist to make for an interesting munch! Seafood eaters will enjoy the 'Spicy Calamari' and the 'Basin Bridge Fish', which comes with a coconut cream glaze.
