Dining out in large numbers with multiple palates to please can be quite tricky indeed. It is no surprise then that restaurants offering buffet option are always popular. In Mohali, it is Daawat restaurant housed in the hotel with the same name that has gained a good fan following for its all-vegetarian buffet spread as well as a vegetarian multi-cuisine menu. The restaurant, done up in hues of blue and contemporary design, makes good use of limited space. There are plenty of buffet options to choose from and there is something to suit every pocket. With prices that sit easy, the place is always bustling with diners. On offer are north Indian and Chinese (Chinjabi really) dishes and the buffet offers a sizeable number of starters as well. You will find ‘Mushroom Chilly’, ‘Crispy Vegetable’, ‘Momos’ find space with quintessential north Indian starters like ‘Paneer Malai Tikka’, ‘Bharwan Aloo’, ‘Tandoori Champ Tikka’ to list a few. The ‘Veg Triple’ brought in noodles, fried rice and vegetable in Schezwan sauce and was quite filling. The sweet and sour we tried was also good. The Chinese sizzler offers 'Manchurian Nuggets', 'Cottage Cheese Nuggets with vegetables and mushroom cooked in Schezwan style' and served on a sizzling platter with noodles. You can also opt for 'Rice' if you wish. The restaurant also houses 2 party halls and a coffee lounge. Even though Daawat is an all-vegetarian restaurant, it does well to pack in a lot.
