Over the last few years, if dining out options has increased in Chandigarh, then Mohali hasn’t been too far behind either. However, having said that, it is also important to mention that there have been more misses than hits especially when it comes to good food in an inviting ambience. Recommending a place in Mohali is always tricky. Well, until now and here’s why. Tucked away in Hotel Zodiac in Phase 5 is JB’s Kitchen and for those, like us, who had not dined here, it comes as a pleasant surprise. The first thing that wins JB’s Kitchen a good score is its very warm and inviting interiors. Most of the eating joints in Mohali are either take-aways or quick service restaurants with not much to talk about when it comes to interiors. JB’s Kitchen with its uniquely designed seating with small wooden beam partitions, a quirky roof design, a view of the glass-encased kitchen and warm tones make for a winning look. The menu has been smartly put together highlighting Indian fare which is definitely their strong point. Other popular favourites are clubbed under ‘From all around the world’. Vegetarians will relish the rather dramatic sounding but very sumptuous 'Sabziyon Ki Raasleela'. It brings in a smorgasbord of vegetables in a makhani tomato gravy. The vegetarian dishes are the equal match to the non-vegetarian line-up. The street style 'Mutton Keema' and 'Handi Chicken' come highly recommended. The menu also offers quintessential cafe menu dishes like grilled sandwiches, pasta, shakes et al. The service is prompt and the staff is very courteous.
