Among the lesser heard restaurants in Sector 35, Le Monarque is housed in the hotel by the same name. It primarily caters to the hotel guests as well as walk-in diners. A small restaurant, it’s styled more like a lounge with low seating and coffee tables instead of dining tables. It is essentially a long hall that has been converted into a dining area. The decor comprises of wooden panels on the walls and ceiling while the turquoise-hued sofas do perk things up. The light filtering in from the large bay windows keep this small place bright. We found the large and bold red cola refrigerator housed in the space such an eyesore. The menu brings in quintessential multi-cuisine dishes. One can choose from north Indian, Chinese and Continental fare. Keeping in mind guests dining in the hotel as well as those looking to grab a quick bite, the menu also offers sandwiches, a selection of pasta and salads. Looking for a quick lunch, we settled for ‘Teen Mirch Ka Paneer’ that came highly recommended by the staff. It was not a bad choice but the extra oil was little putting off. It paired well with the garlic naan that arrived hot and crisp. The service was passable.
