There has been a sudden spurt in the number of microbreweries that have mushroomed in Chandigarh. Malt & Co, though not a new arrival, is housed in Hotel Piccadilly in Sector 22. As you enter the place you notice a large sitting space with artwork on walls and a big screen too. The interiors are a tad lacklustre and that reflects in the service as well. We had to wait a long time to be served the menu and had to ask for water, which we were told is served only on demand. The beer platter with tasters are served and you can also check a new brew, if any. The menu is multi-cuisine and the emphasis is on popular appetizers and main course. The place also houses a live kitchen and you can see the chef as he rustles up your food. Malt & Co also offers sharing platters and is ideal if you are in a large group. The 'Green Apple Beer' we tried was refreshing and paired well with the ‘Cheese Chilli Toast’. It was crispy and the portion was good for two. The ‘Thai Chicken Red Curry’ we had for the main course did not disappoint. If you are looking for dining options in Sector 22, Malt & Co is a good choice but service can be slack.
