It is just not Chandigarh that is seeing a spurt in the number of new restaurants. The suburbs like Zirakpur now offer a good selection of both fine dining places as well as cafes. Mosaic housed in the Country Inn and Suites by Radisson in Zirakpur might be a new place but it offers a refreshing change. Styled like an all-day dining restaurant and cafe, the interiors are bright and there’s plenty of leg room. The global menu offers a good selection of dishes. You can even time a visit here for breakfast. The menu brings in the usual salads, soups and starters. The latter is quite a line-up and mostly north Indian favourites like ‘Hara Bhara Kebab’, ‘Achari Paneer Tikka’, ‘Gilafi Seekh Kebab’ and ‘Amritsari Macchi’ to list a few. The range of north Indian dishes in the main course is equally robust. But we decided to try some Continental fare and Oriental fare. The ‘Chilly Chicken’ we ordered was well done and paired with ‘Sauteed Vegetables’ was filling too. Do try their 'Country Club Sandwich' that is among the best we have had so far in the city. The pricing is fairly reasonable but the service could be quicker. If you are looking for dining options in Zirakpur, Mosaic makes for a good choice especially if you have multiple palates to please.
