A popular fine dining restaurant housed in Hotel Cama in Mohali, PunChin brings together two of the region’s favourite cuisines together – Punjabi and Chinese. The restaurant which is housed in the basement of the hotel is very elegantly done up. We liked the fact that the seating is well spread out and can even work for private parties. The menu packs in popular Punjabi and Chinese fare. There’s a good balance of vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian fare. ‘Soya Chaap’, ‘Thai Paneer Tikka’, ‘Malai Mewe ki Broccoli’ are the frontrunners in the vegetarian appetisers section. If you like fish, then PunChin does a good job with the likes of ‘Mahi Pudina’ and ‘Methi Fish Tikka’. The main course is robust and offers plenty of options in both Punjabi and Chinese fare. The ‘Corn Capsicum Masala’ is a good option for the main course as well as ‘Murgh Makhanwala’. In Chinese mains, the ‘Stir Fried Chinese greens with chilli and crushed garlic’ is light and sit easily on the palate. Those looking for a meatier option can try ‘Mutton Chilli’. It goes well with 'Szechwan Fried Rice'. We found the service efficient and the server was good with recommendations.
