Bombay Brasserie, located in Nungambakkam, Chennai, has acquired finesse in re-inventing traditional Indian delicacies. Interiors of the restaurant are quaint with yellow walls and spacious place. Some of the dishes that are worth trying are ‘The 6 Chutney Papad Tokri’ - assorted crunchy potatoes, black lentils and sago served with our range of homemade chutneys and ‘Naga Ghost Pepper Wings’- chicken wings seasoned with infamous Naga pepper ‘Bhoot Jolokia’.
Spacious restaurant with lots of smiling waiters, ample parking with delicious Indian cuisine. Beem there several times, but yesterday tried out new dishes. Surprisingly, a tad more usage of Chat masala yesterday than usual. Fish curry and also the fried fish were good, but could have been better. The kulfa was good.
Visited this restaurant along with the office colleagues. Everything, from location to layout was amazing. It has a old home kind of set up which you will love. Food was the best. Service was quick with efficient staff. I will surely recommend it for spending a good time.
I was taken there by friends and thoroughly enjoyed food and selection. there were also some interesting traditional pots and serving dishes , as well as displays of spices.
Great place to have kebabs and North Indian food. The dishes are top quality and authentic. Must try the chur chur paratha. Service is good but the persons in the front desk can be unwelcoming at times in my experience.
The fixed menu at lunch time that we opted for was a disappointment. The variety is much less than what it used to be and the service was just average. They have increased prices that is not justified by the offering.
Dining out has never been so pleasurable since the arrival of new additions to Chennai’s dining scene. The city has become a mecca of fancy restaurants that have managed to draw the patronage of the diners in abundance. Few areas than most have benefited from this culinary resurgence and Nungambakkam is one of those trendy spots that have gained the maximum advantage. The vicinity has recently gained ‘Bombay Brasserie’ which is a fancy fine dining restaurant tucked onto College Lane. Soon after its opening, the restaurant drew a huge crowd of diners which later turned into posse of regulars. Dining here may not be cheap but it’s totally satisfying. Patrons come here to sample the restaurant’s gorgeous fare and its lovely elegant ambience. So popular has been Bombay Brasserie that it is wise to book ahead even on weekdays.
Bombay Brasserie is nestled into a lush green pocket of the city which takes the dining experience to a whole new level. The restaurant has very cleverly tried to use the nature to their best advantage by modifying their façade in such a way that indoors and outdoors blend seamlessly together. Interiors are plush and modern. The décor is furnished in a contemporary manner but there is nothing harsh about the setting. Everything is soft and soothing to the eyes. Ambience is classy, artsy and very tasteful. But in spite of such fancy surroundings there is a part of the restaurant which is in a lot of demand. Bombay Brasserie has very cleverly extended their restaurant into a glass conservatory which is equipped with handful of tables. It has a floor to ceiling panel of glass on all three sides, so it’s like dining into a lush garden.
The restaurant follows a complete North-Indian menu. It is composed in a very clever manner by offering their patrons a wide variety of rich Indian dishes. To start sampling the menu we recommend you to take your time to browse through the first course. It entails, subz shikampuri kebab, prawn koliwada, challi subz ki seekh, panch phoran chicken, gosht sigdi se, golden tiger prawns, gunpowder potatoes and paperwali machchi. Ask your server to get you a peach margarita before hitting the main course. To mop up the decadent array of curries choose between a flaky buttery naan or a bowlful of aromatic biryani. Finish with trio of phirni, ras-e-aam or jalebi.
There are only handful of places in Chennai that are as popular or as fantastic as Bombay Brasserie. The restaurant is a standing favourite amongst the serious foodies living in Chennai. Because of its lovely airy interiors, Bombay Brasserie has become a busy meeting spot for everyone. Its glass conservatory extending into the garden is a quite romantic location for dates. Nature lovers with a taste for outstanding North Indian food will find Bombay Brasserie a revelation. Its outlet in Nungambakkam is constantly buzzing with activity throughout the Special Occasion week.
