After being stuck in a remote part of Chennai, Desi Di Indian Restaurant is now right in the heart of the city. Helmed by a young and vibrant chef, it is a fun take on Pan Indian dining format, which is rather hard to come by in Chennai. With loads of graffiti on the walls and quirky cutlery, the ambience reinforces the fun component that the menu is trying to convey. The food does not take a back seat, thankfully. The simple 'Drumstick Corn Soup' is a fancy take on the humble Murungakka Saaru, with nice bold flavours of the drumstick oozing out. A good Boti Kebab is hard to come by in Chennai, Desi Di does justice with its 'Boti Plate', a fabulous dish with melt-in-the-mouth lamb and turnip puree that goes best with the slices of garlicky naan. Service is quick and friendly. With a fun ambience and a Pan Indian menu, this restaurant is great for both family and large groups.
