Quirky cliches aside, Fully Local brings solid North Indian food at pocket-friendly prices to Mylapore. Prominently located on the Cathedral Road, it is a cosy little place with a youthful décor that carries onto the menu. There are a few hits and misses in the food, however they have nailed the staples such as butter chicken and dal makhni.
Good restaurant near Marina Beach for north Indian dishes. The staffs of this Fully Local are very friendly. Their food is awesome and tasty. Panner, Delhi rajma chawal and punjabi butter chicken is very yummy. For sure who likes authentic food will love this place.
It's a Retro theamed Restaurant situated in the heart of the city near Marina Beach. Pulkha, Black Dal and Rajma where yummy. The food is a bit expensive.
They specialize in North Indian cuisine.. But we didn't enjoy our meal very much.. Even though the prices are very economical, you don't get a bang for your buck. Disappointed.
Found this place on the dine out app which was promising a 10% discount - hence decided to try it on a Sunday afternoon. The salt lassi was interestingly bottled in an inverted light bulb - and tasted good with a hint of cumin powder - not overdone. We did not try starters as we were with hungry kids and headed straight to the main course. The Yellow Dal and the "Fully Local Paneer" - both were really well done - homely, less on spice, not oily at all and easy on the palate. Among the breads though, the stuffed Parantha or the Kulcha were strictly average. The Chur Mur Naan was a delight. The Choley that came with the Amritsari Kulcha was pretty good too. We wound up our meal with Gulab Jamuns which was well cooked too.
This was our last meal from our trip and it was simply delicious and fulfilled expectations we had previously read on tripadvisor. We had originally booked for lunch, we arrived and they said the kitchen had a problem. They were friendly and nice about it so we came back for dinner and we are glad we did!
The young gastronomes of today have become quite wise and experimental. They have started foraying into the unknown and bringing back with them trunkful of ideas and vibrancy. Their style however remains the same, striking and loud. When talking about youth-oriented food joints there is one thing which is common in all of them i.e. intensity. Be it in food or décor, there is nothing subtle about a youthful décor. They believe in going all out. Chennai has a fabulous gastronomy for youth-oriented sector. The city is home to many trendy pubs and bistros that may look small but packs quite a punch flavour wise. And one such place pops in mind, ‘Fully Local’. The restaurant is designed to pull the younger sector through its chirpy décor and a likeable crowd pleasing menu. Having said that, the restaurant is a solid place to spend hours with your friends without burning a hole in your pocket.
Fully Local falls into the Mylapore radar, somewhere in Dr Radha Krishna Salai. They stick with a fresh peppy approach in décor, choosing a lot of happy colours to draw the eye. As their target audience is a young one, they have picked on vibrancy and comfort as their USP. What grabs your attention is their cheerful coloured furniture and wooden pallet walls that acts as the perfect foil. Room is spacious and brightly lit. However, in evenings the place turns into a mecca of fun and frolic. Lights are turned low to enhance the mood and speakers belt out funky feet-hopping tunes. Mood is very party like and casual. The idea is to have a good time and relax in the company of friends. They try to bring in creativity by serving your drinks in an electric bulb.
Menu of Fully Local explores the hidden facets of Street Food and North-Indian food. Menu is composed cleverly by including crowd pleasing dishes. Begin with a breakfast spread if you are visiting in day time or appetizers if in evening. Tuck into, vada pav, chicken tikka roll, veg assorted pakoras, gol gappe shots, Bombay sandwich, kalmi kebab, mutton burre, paneer achari and aloo tikka with chole. Fill yourself up further with, chicken kurchan, lucknowi mutton biryani, keema pav, aloo matar, butter chicken, rajma chawal, mutton curry and desi combo meals. For your sweet tooth opt for a phirni or a kulfi or ice creams.
