To sample some of that old-fashioned grill cooking, drive down to ‘Grill Box’ in Mylapore, a place where they take barbeque very seriously. The smell of burning charcoal and sound of sizzling meats dominates the ambience. All your senses will go in overdrive and your mouth will water with anticipation of a great meal to come.

Grill Box in Mylapore potrays a very fun and exotic background. They are working with the jungle theme and have taken great pains to execute the theme in a proper way. Sitting area is fashioned like a cave with walls made out of boulders and veins of branches running from the wall to ceiling. Notice the life like statues of tribal men and wild animals tucked into various corners to infuse the jungle flavour to this modern city restaurant. The décor and their concept is fun especially for the kids who love exploring the grounds and pose for the pictures happily. Grill Box is a happy noisy place meant for families and cheerful parties of diners talking away. The place is always busy and buzzing so it might be difficult to bag a table – call ahead.

The USP of Grill Box is its menu which dabbles into barbeque, Continental, seafood, North-Indian, Mediterranean and Chinese. Each tables is fitted with a compact live grill box that is filled with scrumptious appetizers for you to grill and eat. Their kebabs, BBQ, grills and buffet are renowned all over the city for their flavour and variety. Grill Box is pretty pocket-friendly but if you want to be even more economical then stick to their buffet which is generous. They prepare, achari khumb, charmoule fish, rice corn walnut tikki, mutton gilafi seekh, adraki paneer tikka in starters and mutton biryani, aloo gobi mutter, srilankan crab curry, methi chaman, chilli egg, dal bhukara and fish in manchurian sauce in main course.
