Jack’s Resto Cafe is the newest tenant at that Anugraha Apartments spot which played host to Sketch and GMT last year. A design overhaul brings an easygoing ‘cabin in the woods’ vibe which gels with Jack’s bistro offerings. Fried Calamari added welcome texture on a thin crust Pizza, which missed salt in the dough. Ironically, there was too much salt in an otherwise delicious and moist fillet of Tuscan Grilled Trout which needed generous dabs of the accompanying vinegar emulsion.
Your hunt for a new hangout may end sooner than you think. Chennai may have a plethora of casual eateries tucked in every corner but novelty soon wears off after you experience everything there is to see. Which is why, we take great pride in introducing to you spaces that will rekindle your interest and perk up your curious mind. The new chip on the block is a quaint café, which with it’s enthusiasm and never-ending innovation has become a huge favorite of the local epicureans. Called ‘Jack’s Café’, our latest entrant is cozy chilled out space for those who want nothing better to spend hours in the company of their friends. The café comes perched on the Ground Floor, Anugraha Apartments, Nungambakkam in Chennai, a locality buzzing with activity all day long.
As the café targets a more youthful audience, it’s menu reflects of their preference. You will be pleased to see a selection of café heavy dishes on the menu, tackling mostly Continental and Italian cuisines. The nook and cranny of the menu is stuffed with crowd classics, salads, pizzas and ice creams, which never fails to bring alive any good café menu. The café remains open until midnight so if you crave for a snack before bed, head to Jack’s Café. Pick a nice cooler to swap the absence of alcohol. Jumpstart the evening with antipasti, only to follow it up with a range of mouth-watering mains. Give a shot to, risotto con gamberi, diavola pasta, pizza Hawaii, ravioli kamarina, crespelli al funghi, Jack’s special burger, tuna sub, tandoori mint sandwich, suprema alla voldostana, penne di pollo and gnocchi pesto.
Mind, save some space for the desserts as well. Conclude the evening with, caramel cheese cake, panna cotta, kit kat chocolate mousse, walnut brownie with chocolate sauce, cream brulee, blue berry cheese cake, ice-cream rolls and tiramisu. You can even dig into their crepes and waffles any time of the day. A rather modern front of the café flows into an equally contemporary earthy dining room. With the help of wooden tiles and muddy brick wall, they have tries to give a cabin-in-the-wood kind of feel. Furniture is light and stylish. Overall, the space is inviting, comfortable and modern. Live sports screening keeps your attention hooked. Without costing too much, Jack’s Café could be a very good dining option.
