It didn’t take us much time to find out the venue for our next game night. We were sure we wanted a casual but chic place with unlimited food and we found all that in this one restaurant. Again Nungambakkam came to the rescue with its exciting addition ‘Mexicano Griller’. Though we had heard a lot about the restaurant it was still a happy surprise when we finally got to experience it. Not only was it exotic looking but it had copious amount of variety to dazzle any foodie. The restaurant falls quite near to Loyola College in Chennai and is a great hub for people to hang out over a big bowl of nachos. The spacious premises of the restaurant is a blessing considering their dark theme of red and black. To add some Mexican touch they have left acoustic guitars lying around. Lighting is kept on dim to enhance the intimacy which works great for couples and even those who want to just lay back and enjoy a game.
The courteous behaviour of the staff is something that elevates your evening. They are attuned to your needs and are a friendly lot. Service is quick and in no time your order comes to your table. The menu that Mexicano Griller follows is authentic and flavoursome Mexican. For those who are a beginner in the delights of Mexican food can choose from the menu but if you know the difference between enchilada and burrito then enjoy their lavish Mexican buffet which comes at a pretty reasonable price. The buffet is generous and showcases most of the dishes from the menu. Their a la carte menu opens with starters like, calamari, corn Mexican nachos, de tacos, kings butterfly prawn, tempura salad, mexicano spicy chicken wings and wild ajillo mushroom with spicy sauce.
Coming to the mains part of the menu it begins with sandwiches, burgers and wraps section. You can even share a Mexican pizza between your friends. Pastas and lasagne also finds a place on the menu. More traditionally Mexican mains consists of loaded de burrito, chillaquiles, pescado envuelto, de chimichanga, Mexican bandidos, ever green Mexicano griller shrimp, pollo de palavera and de poisoner with wild pasley butter sauce. Don’t leave without trying their creative dessert menu which comes with choco tortilla, flan and panocota with fresh fruits. Mexicano Griller is reasonable and pocket-friendly too.
