The art of making pizza is not so simple. It takes a lot of technique and finesse to get a pizza just right. To make a perfect pizza, one has to take everything into consideration. From the right thickness of the crust to its soft texture. The sauce has to be exactly right too. If you have gotten these two things right then you have won half the battle. As we said – it’s not easy! Chennai has been loving pizza for a long time now. It has seen the arrival of numerous pizzerias and have judged the pizzas fairly. After much research it has declared only a handful of them ideal and one of them is ‘Tuscana Pizzeria’. This pizzeria has become synonymous to gourmet pizzas in the city since it first came to Wallace Gardens in 2010.

Since then the pizzeria has opened many outlets all over Chennai and one of them is in Adyar. The restaurant is located on 3rd Street in Shastri Nagar, just near Old Number 1. The vicinity is a busy one because it houses many other popular eateries besides Tuscana Pizzeria. The exterior façade of the building is rather simple but inside is completely opposite. Interiors of Tuscana Pizzeria is designed in a stylish manner by choosing to be modern and chic. The place is semi-formal in sitting and has a classy vibe. Everything is kept casual so one feels relaxed and pampered at the same time. Pale white walls carry a distressed effect but to formalise it they have added wallpapers. Soft mustard coloured sofas are mingled in with lightweight wooden chairs as a contrast. Contemporary glass lamps throw dim light so mood is intimate and private.

Menu of Tuscana Pizzeria is completely budget-friendly and deals into authentic Italian food. But what they are famous for is their gourmet pizzas. They do some pastas too but pizzas steals the spotlight. In first course start with, chicken croquettes, baked stuffed mushrooms, bruschetta, golden ricotta dumplings, grilled peppers with buffalo mozzarella cheese, mushroom soup, classic Caesar salad and focaccia. Next chose which route you want to take, the pizza route or the pasta one. Tuck into, chicken tikka masala pizza, mushroom ravioli, spicy pepper pasta with lamb sausage, pasta alla norma, pizza siciliana, seafood pasta and three cheese ravioli. Finish with a lemon cheesecake, torta chocolate, tiramisu and panna cotta.
