Burma Burma, the runaway hit restaurant from Mumbai has already commanded a fan following in the capital after it set up its base here a few years ago. Take a moment to let the ambience sink in. There is exquisite mandala art on the restaurant's walls, it is geometric design a nod to spirituality and meditation. Do gape at authentic recreations of the teak and rattan colonial Burmese chairs, and they may transport you back to ancient MandalayBoasting of a menu that finetunes vegetarian avatars of Burmese specialities, the dining outfit does not compromise either on authenticity or taste. Burmese fresh produce gets a thumbs up on the menu, which celebrates tea leaves, fermented dried mustard, tofu, black sesame and assorted ingredients. The 'Thoke Sampler' is a winner all the way and is a paean to all that is fresh and crunchy. Featuring in it are raw mango, sunflower leaves and tea leaf salads that rejuvenate your palate with zest and bite. Raw mango juliennes, concealing in their heart, crushed peanuts, fried onions and other explosive flavours, play your tastebuds like a symphony. The menu is also the perfect foil to an Oriental decor, flaunting rows upon rows of Burmese collectables, including teapots, figurines and ornamental boxes.
