Though it is overall very contemporary with shades of vibrancy, the quirky furniture, curio collection from Malaysia exudes a bucolic feel. All in all, the ambience salutes Malaysian fare, offering a delightful harmony between traditional and modern appeal. Coming to the food, the Baos are a must-have. Make a beeline for the Sticky Rice Stuffed with Onion and Sambal, which you can dip into more sambal from the ‘Do It Your Own’ kit they keep on the table. For mains, the ‘Nasi Lemak’ is wholesome and one can enjoy the full-bodied aroma of rice cooked in coconut milk, enhanced with subtle spices, accompanied with fried anchovies, boiled eggs, lemon, spicy sambal, and some fried chicken (ask for fresh slices of cucumber and crunchy groundnuts it will taste even better). I did not much care for the ‘Nasi Goreng’ as I have had better versions, but that said for this particular dish each cook has his own recipe. And yes do not miss the ‘The Tarik’ that translates into ‘stretched tea’ literally. Piping hot tea is skilfully pulled from one cup to another, to increase its aroma, cool its temperature and have a nice foamy top, It is divine here! If you do not like sweet in your savoury, you can avoid the curries.
