DELHI-NCR'S first and only jungle-themed restaurant was Corbett at The Claridges, but being al fresco, it came with its seasonal limitations and ultimately had to shut down because it didn't have business for seven to eight months a year. There was space, though, for a Rainforest Cafe equivalent offering a jungle experience indoors, and it has been taken up by Jungle Jamboree, which opened first at the Gold Souk in Gurgaon and then at the Outer Circle of Connaught Place. At both venues, you are successfully transported to a world that you can otherwise experience only when you are on an expensive vacation. They also double the fun quotient for children, giving them the option of dining in an 'aqua cave' or among life-size animal figurines in the 'jungle area', tucking into lower-priced menus designed especially for them, feeling the grass on couches, walls and floors, and having a free run of the play zones. Among Delhi-NCR's mushrooming restaurants, Jungle Jamboree makes an effort to offer a truly unique family experience. The seven-course buffet, changed regularly and paired with customised soft beverages (from aam panna to paan shots), is also studded with customer favourites that are cooked well. So, you can start your meal with Raj Kachori, move on Murgh Malai Tikka, Chicken Shawarma and Kung Pao Fish, and end the meal with Moong Dal Halwa and Paan Ice-Cream.
