It is true that Delhi’s Mughlai food journey has evolved over the years. Nazeer’s modest origins can be traced to Meerut where a small shop called Nazeer kabab corner was set up by Late Mohammed Nazeer more than 100 years ago. The brand’s reputation took flight once his son Late Haji Mohammed Yusuf started setting up stalls in assorted exhibitions, including the Urs festival in Ajmer Sharif. Today, the label has several outfits across Delhi-NCR and Meerut with offerings that score big with Mughlai food connoisseurs. A scene stealer is the mutton biryani crowned by two tender meat chunks that rest on rice stained orange by a mélange of flavours. Warming spices bring an insistent thrust to every dish, such as the 'Mutton Shami Kabab' and 'Malai Paneer Tikka' which reflect delicate execution and years of experience.
