It is like walking into a hill station when you step into the restaurant lawns. Small white canopies and high wooden stools in the garden makes you feel like you are lounging in an orchard villa in Tuscany. This is nicely paired with a plate of iceberg lettuce, olives, onion, cherry tomatoes and paprika feta tossed in lemon oregano. Apart from the Italian selection, they also have nice Indian dishes to try.
We went to this place but the name was not clearly visible .. anyway we took lift which was too smelly. Then we entered the premises which had reasonably nice interiors. The menu was very dirty and due to dim light I wasn't able to see the contents of the menu ... We ordered Malai paneer and one Mirchi parantha. The taste of both the items was good but the way it was served was not good. Presentation wasn't good. They just placed it on table and left. Lil chutney. No achaar for parantha. No mouth freshner. Failed in giving good feeling. World art dining and Lord of drinks chamber are two very good restaurants. Though derby priced it's items at similar price but the quality of service, ambiance and presentation was nowhere near. So I'm not recommending this place..
Having a huge board on the main Punjabi Bagh Club Road, Derby Cookhouse is unmissable. It is situated on the third floor and has both indoor and outdoor arrangement. The interior is nicely done with intriguing wall hangings but felt gloomy due to limited illumination. The outdoor seating is well built with wooden decor and feels airy. We ordered - Chilly Chicken 4/5 Fish Orly 5/5 Chicken Pizza 3.5/5 Tequila Chicken Tikka 3/5 Simba 2 Buckets Chilly Chicken arrived first and looked like the usual Indo-Chinese preparation. The chicken was well cooked and tender with a crisp outer crust. The sauce had the right consistency and was adequately spicy. Fish Orly was the showstopper dish. The Sole Fish was soft as cotton candy (unable to come up with an appropriate comparison :D). The crust was proper crisp and flaky. The preparation had immaculate taste and was finished in no time. We ordered a custom pizza with Chicken Chunks, Chicken Sausages and Pepperoni. The pizza had a super crisp crust, almost felt like a baked cracker with pizza toppings. The toppings were generously layered and appropriately spiced. The cheese was a slight let down and did not taste nice. The Tequila Chicken Tikka was a visual gimmick. 6-7 pieces of chicken tikka served along with a flaming tequila shot glass. The Flaming Tequila is then poured over of the tikka pieces bringing out nothing but good content for a video or image. The Tikka marination and spicing was spot on. However, some pieces were not cooked completely and rawness could be tasted. The place is nice to hang out with friends and food is decent. I might visit the place again and try other things from the menu. The staff and manager were cordial, and the service was quick. Happy Munching!
