Located in the Cluster Q of Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT), Café Funkie Town is a quaint and cosy restaurant that is known for its authentic Parsi and ‘Bombaiya’ cuisine. This hidden gem has retro interiors and exudes an old-world charm that was once synonymous with the quintessential Parsi café culture of Bombay (now Mumbai) in the 60s. Great customer service is not the only good thing about this quirky yet beautiful place. Some of their in-house specialities include ‘Bun Maska’ - a Bombay style lavishly buttered hot toasted bun, ‘Kheema Pattice’ - a drool-worthy mince mutton snack, ‘Chicken Farcha’ – the Parsi equivalent to American style fried chicken, crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. Another popular Parsi delicacy worth trying is ‘Prawn Patiyo’ - a curry-based prawn dish featuring just the right confluence of sweet, spicy and tangy flavours. Some of the equally enticing vegetarian options on the menu include flavorful ‘Paneer Bhurji’ served with their special 'Bun Maska' or 'Pan Toast', 'Veg Cutlet' served with rich tangy gravy and ‘Veg Parsi Pulao Daar’ - a wholesome meal of Parsi style veg Pulao served with traditional ‘Dhansak Daal’.
