Healthy, Nourishing, Wholesome food!

Restaurants in Mumbai that are now focusing on healthier ingredients and more well-rounded menus are a big welcome. In our ongoing quest to try and eat healthier, these restaurants and cafés are a huge boon. It is easy to get tasty food almost anywhere you dine at, but food that is nourishing, wholesome and that tastes great is another thing. When 212 All Good opened its doors, there were plenty of sceptics that thought dishes made with healthier ingredients would not work. The truth is that diners today crave a variety of dishes that are not drowning in oil or batter and actually want food that is nutritious.

The restaurant has been phenomenally successful and sees all age groups strolling in for meals or even a cup of coffee and dessert. There are hardly any complaints and dishes such as their No Egg Omelette, or their Tender Coconut Pad Thai (which does not have any noodles) are extremely popular. So, to experiment and take their menu a notch further, the next couple of weeks are dedicated to a small but detailed raw and vegan menu. The current menu has plenty of vegan choices, but the concept of Raw Vegan is still very new. While vegan dishes are those made without any meat, egg or dairy and therefore eliminating popular ingredients such as paneer, butter, cheese and milk. Raw Vegan refers to dishes that are essentially raw, not cooked with heat. To be precise, anything cooked at or above a temperature of 40 degrees celsius is considered cooked and therefore not Raw Vegan.

It sounds more intimidating than it is and while it might get cumbersome to prepare dishes like those at home, 212 All Good has a concise menu to help you dip your feet into the pool of all sorts of veganism. The menu has been designed by Raw Food Chef and Coach Isha Kinger and is fresh, good for your gut and embraces everything the restaurant stands for. The menu includes hearty Smoothies such as their Banana Almond Buttercup with Cacao nibs, which is a meal in itself, sharing plates such as their Almond Torte with a trio of pesto with pizza and flaxseed crackers. There are salads to choose from, a Zoom Burger with cashew mayonnaise and ketchup made in-house. Couscous, Coconut Wraps and Zucchini Spaghetti make up their main menu, but it is the Tart of Heirloom Tomatoes, Mushrooms and Caramelised Onions made with a basil cashew coconut tart crust that is the real winner.

All the food on this menu is packed with plenty of flavours and is so wholesome that you feel full with just a couple of dishes and do not crave anything till your next meal. The menu is available along with their regular one till the first week of March, and it is possibly the only restaurant in town where you can experiment with different vegan dishes.
