5 Best New Restaurants in Mumbai to dine out this December

10 Dec, 2018 by Roxanne Bamboat

It might be the season to be jolly but it is certainly the season to eat out. It is safe to say that December is upon us and that means a number of celebrations with diners anxiously looking for new places to visit and celebrate. Skip your favourite haunts in favour of one ( or possibly all ) of these new restaurants in Mumbai. From Mexican, Spanish, Middle Eastern and even Thai, all these restaurants in Mumbai are offering new and exciting cuisines and promising meals unlike any other. These are some of our favourite new restaurants in Mumbai.

Tygr

An interesting mix of modern Thai cuisine and American style grills is what makes up the menu at Zorawar Kalra's new offering. It is a classy space perfect for a dinner date with unusual dishes with familiar Thai flavours. the grills include a line up of burgers, Benedict and even seared cuts of meat. It might seem an odd cuisine choice to pair them both but it is great when you are a large group dining out and are looking for a choice. The signature here are their innovative cocktails and you will find you can easily make a meal of a couple of drinks and appetizers while hanging at the bar.

Sancho's

Mumbai is slowly warming up to Mexican restaurants and Sanchos is the latest addition. It is located right next to the ever-popular Olive Bar and Kitchen and elegant yet subtle interiors and decor by none other than Gauri Khan. The food is a refreshing change from the usual Quesadilla and Burritos but 'Chef Esdras' who helms the kitchen is considered the king of tacos so that is something you can not miss here. Do not miss the rags to riches Guacamole, especially the one with Truffle Paste and Black Corn Chips.

Rue Du Liban

Kalaghoda's latest addition to its ever-evolving restaurant scene is a delightful ode to Levantine cuisine. With a distinctly French-sounding name and interiors that remind you of an art deco themed French bistro, the restaurant is a wonderful spot for a meal out. With familiar dishes like Hummus and Baba Ganoush, there are ample more as the menu goes well beyond the typical crowd pleasers. The restaurant space is elegant and is the perfect setting for a celebratory meal.

Hammer and Song

Not every meal out needs to be a fine dining experience and if you are in the mood for a more casual homely affair with top-notch food, then Hammer and Song at Cuffe Parade works well. This fairly recent space is a wonderful space for a couple of drinks before a lazy meal with friends or family. The menu includes a little of everything from tikkas to noodles and roast chicken.

Uno Mas

When you can count the number of Spanish restaurants in the city on your fingertips you know that a dedicated Tapas Bar and Kitchen will be special. Uno Mas sits pretty in BKC proud of their all Spanish menu. Think pretty plates with small bites from their tapas, traditional Paella and all sorts of meat, seafood and vegetable-based dishes that will leave you feeling like you have dined in Europe instead of the city's corporate hub. The restaurant has this vintage European look with aged wooden furniture, painted window shutters and elaborate lampshades but is well lit and feels like you might be at a bar or a cosy restaurant in Europe.
