21 Mar, 2017 by Mini Ribeiro

Over 2,000 chefs across continents selected by a committee of international chefs will be participating in the third edition of the Goût de France festival on March 21, 2017. They will dish up, at the same time, a menu featuring gourmet French cuisine, making it a must-attend international culinary event.

Encouraged to blend their own culinary culture with that of France, chefs from participating hotels and restaurants are creating a French-style menu with an aperitif and canapés, entrée, main courses, cheese platter, dessert, French wines and champagne.

Artisan at The Sofitel Mumbai BKC, Fenix, The Oberoi, The Sassy Spoon, Nariman Point, Olive Bar & Kitchen, Khar, The Clearing House, Ballard Estate, Rivea, Taj Santacruz, Olio, Novotel Mumbai, Juhu, are some places diners can visit to enjoy the festival.

Over 65 restaurants in India have been selected and diners can pick their preferred ambience as they will be spoiled for choice – bistro, coffee bar, contemporary or haute cuisine restaurants, are what they can select from.

Although the festival is a one-day event globally, The Sassy Spoon runs it till March 31, to enable lovers of gourmet food to enjoy French cuisine for an extended period.

The Good France food menu at The Sassy Spoon, Nariman Point, boasts of starters such as Goat Cheese Scallops with rosemary infused Poached Pears and Endive, while the mains include Roast Chicken with Smoked Ham Jus, Mogri Beans and Potato Gnocchi and a Layered Risotto with confit of Pimento and Aubergine, Olive Tapenade and a Truffle Cream Infusion. For desserts, one can relish Profiteroles with Salted Caramel and a Vanilla Hazelnut Feuilletine Ice Cream.

Artisan at The Sofitel Mumbai BKC, offers vegan Wild Rice Filled Squash Strips, Chilled Beetroot Soup with a dollop of Sour Dil Cream, pan seared Gucchi Polenta with Ratatouille among other options and Chocolate Mille Feuille for dessert.

This initiative, launched by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development under the aegis of celebrated Chef Alain Ducasse, aims to acknowledge the excellence of French cuisine, its openness to influences from all over the world and the values that it conveys – bringing people together over a shared meal and the pleasure of taste.

Bon Appetit.
