A royal food festival hosted by the Thakur of Jhalamand Garh, Raghuvendra Pratap Singh from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, in association with Renaissance Powai, Mumbai, gives gourmands an opportunity to savour the flavours from their home kitchen.
Rajgharana, the festival is on at Nawab Saheb, for dinner daily till April 7.
The menu has been curated to provide several options for vegetarians too, apart from an array of non-vegetarian dishes, this cuisine is synonymous with.
Marwari Kabuli Pulav
The menu includes dishes like Jodhpuri Lobster, Lal Mirch Ka Jheenga, Bakre Ka Chaap, Jodhpuri Mirchi Wada, Mathaniya Paneer Tikka, Shikari Chicken, Laal Maas, Anwala Ke Gate, Dal Baati Churma, Marwari Biryani and more.
The food is high on flavours, with distinct ingredients from the region. The cooking techniques have been meticulously followed by the chefs and the resultant flavours are palate-pleasing. The richness of the ghee and spices comes through effortlessly. The accompanying Haldi Ka Achaar and Chutneys, are equally a delight for the taste buds.
The array of desserts include Rabdi Ke Ladoo, Malai Ghevar, Moong Dal Halwa and more.
Thakur Raghuvendra is showcasing the food of his region, with the help of his Khansamas who have come along with him and are cooking the meals with the special ingredients, as they do back home. They are strictly adhering to their signature recipes with ingredients exclusively found in the select areas of Jodhpur, in order to give diners the real taste of Rajasthan.
Apart from the royal cuisine, expect to enjoy a vibrant and colourful ambience, replete with puppet shows, bangle sellers, folk dancers and singers to recreate the atmosphere.
The vegetarian meal is priced at Rs 2800 plus taxes, while the non-vegetarian spread comes at Rs 3500 plus taxes.
