Eclectic Bangkok street food can be experienced in Mumbai till October 29 at JW Café, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar as Thai specialty chef, Chef Rungtiwa Sorlae, recreates her culinary magic yet again at the Thai Food Festival in association with Tourism Authority of Thailand.

From noodle soup to satay and som tham to seafood in basil sauce, Chef Rungtiwa treats you to authentic delicacies from Thailand, transporting you to the bustling Min Buri Market, Chatuchak Market and China Town. The colourful décor replete with Thai elements at the restaurant adds to the dining experience.

This carefully designed menu based on a team’s recent visit to Bangkok to experience Thai flavours first-hand, allows guests to taste a good mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes from across Thailand.

A liberal use of traditional Thai ingredients such as coconut, lemongrass, galangal, fish sauce, Thai chillies and palm sugar impart the right aromatic flavours to the dishes. The ingredients, some of which are procured from Thailand, are well-balanced and bring out the different flavours in each dish.

Open only for dinner, the vast array of dishes as part of the buffet with a few live stations, appease the taste buds of gourmands. The adept staff at the counters assist you with options for soups and satays as per your preference.

Desserts are undoubtedly one of the highlights of this festival. Thai sticky rice and mango is what you may be used to, but Chef Rungtiwa treats you to the crispy roti tord served with creamy pandan custard and ka-nom-boing or mini crisp fried pancakes with unique sweet fillings and leaves you satiated.

Tofu with bean sprouts, phad-cha seafood, chicken phad-prik-kang-dang, smoked duck with kale leaves in garlic sauce, are some dishes which give you an insight into the exquisite and fresh flavours of Thailand.

With the effervescent Chef Rungtiwa personally visiting each table to guide guests and cater to their personal preferences, one can be sure to experience the best of Thai flavours at this festival.
