The Cashew Trail At Park Hyatt Goa

22 Apr, 2017 by Nolan Mascarenhas

Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa celebrates its 15-year anniversary in 2017 and that is not the only reason to visit the sixth season of the annual harvest festival – The Cashew Trail from April 16 – 23, 2017. Embark upon an engaging trail full of enriching experiences spread over a week at the picturesque resort in Goa this April. The Cashew Trail is an annual event that was conceptualised by Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa in association with Madame Rosa Distillery. Since its inception in 2012, this event was curated to showcase the legacy of the fruit of Goa – the Cashew in its many forms and manifestations to the global audience.

As it is the ideal time for this unique celebration being the perfect harvest season for cashews, it is quite a showcase of the fruit in its true glory. Over the week-long event, guests can be privy to a bevy of events lined up from the Vintage Car Trail & Beach Front Brunch – bringing alive the farm to table experience with the group of Vintage cars owners on the 16th of April to inaugurate and kick start the festivities ahead.

What is Cashew without an Heirloom Culinary Challenge. Six vibrant home chefs will showcase their family recipes perfected over generations and preserved with love at an interactive cooking challenge in collaboration with the Goan Culinary Club, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the preservation of Goan cuisine and culture for future generations. All these wonderful recipes will have one common ingredient – the Cashew. The chefs will be cooking at the Goan restaurant Casa Sarita and the winner will get to exhibit their dish at the Cashew Trail brunch at the grand finale on Sunday, 23 April.

On April the 21st there is a Portuguese Inspired Park Hyatt Masters of Food & Wine crafted for celebration and to pay tribute to the native culture, ingredients and flavours. An interactive Portuguese inspired Goan degustation dinner follows that is paired with exquisite wines. Odette Mascarenhas, co-founder of Goan Culinary Club, along with Fatima Da Silva Gracias, Orty Soares and Maria Fernanda Costa Souza are the curators for the evening. A Feni Appreciation afternoon entails a master class conducted by none other than the feni sommelier Jeffrey Manuel wherein a group of discerning connoisseurs enjoy the rare collection of the choicest variants of Feni. All this culminates into the brunch to end the weeklong celebration where with 15 curated reasons this year round with the Cashew Trail. A spectacular culmination of the week-long celebrations; the Cashew Trail Brunch is the perfect destination to experience thoughtfully curated cashew inspired food & beverage experiences, interactive entertainment, splendid cultural sights, wellness experiences, kids zones, good cheer and a bagful of happy memories.
