These Japanese restaurants in Saadi Dilli will gratify your yearnings for more than just Sushi. Expect to find Okonomiyaki, comforting bowls of ramen, Eihire and more on these menus.
This upmarket Japanese restaurant is sporting a new menu. House favorites like the Shira are: delicious, blanched tofu and spinach wrapped in zucchini along with bubu arare, sesame seeds, and Edamame beans on the bed of sesame sauce, mixed on the table, endure and the ala carte Sushi is still a highlight. Best part is that new dishes like the decadent Nori Chips, Chicken Fried Rice, Yakitori Negima, Assorted Mushrooms, Gyozas and other small dishes are not hefty in pricing either. A stunner of a dish is the light, fresh and spicy Baked Eel with Tobiko Mayo. As one would expect, the flavours here are delicate, proportionate, and the dressings are made in-house. Arresting flavours from the quality and rarest ingredients get amplified with the most rousing array of Japanese Sakes.

Wreathed in a contemporary Japanese style, makes a pictographic effect of composure and easing abounding with three private dining rooms and a striking Sushi bar. Popular with Japanese and Indians alike for a long time, it’s hard to go erroneous with fresh Sushi and Sashimi out here. The tempura is transported to your table still sizzling and luscious and the ‘Buta Shoga Yaki’ aka sliced pork with ginger flavoured soy sauce melts in your mouth like cubes of butter. Each group of Teppanyaki, sea food, meat, and vegetables comes with its own selection of sauces for dipping your grilled bite sized treat. Some are tart, some tangy, others sweet or savory- all are marvelous. A specialty here is the ‘Gindara Saikyo Yaki’, the soft flesh of the cod fish is broiled with white Kyoto soy bean paste, and is most tender. Have the ‘Eihire’ (grilled fins of stingray fish), and you will be converted. The fragrant green tea and sesame seed ice creams here are the best in town.

Japanese features such as Noh masks, the lustrous interior design quite like a feisty nirvana in a modern setting; evocative of a divergent land with an alluring patio and a bar. The Black Rice California roll is their signature, one of the best À la carte rolls. A simple California inside is topped with cream cheese, takuan, cucumber, avocado, and asparagus. The zing and the incinerated flavour go collected truly well. The Daikon Salad is an eclectic and refreshing mix of juicy pieces of radish and young mustard, seaweed and baby greens with ginger and plum dressing. The signature black cod grilled and served on a hot river stone is one not to be missed. Share the Matcha pudding it’s gratifying. Also, they have an offer going until the end of August where you can enjoy 1+1 on sushi or appetizers.

Daikichi is a mom and pop run Japanese restaurant that specializes in authentic home style Japanese food and is well patronized by the Japanese. The interior is more rectangular than square, long and narrow with plenty of seating and the menu short and sweet. The Gyozas here are just insanely delicious. Packed full of warm pork meat, it’s immensely satisfying and undoubtedly the go-to appetizer here. The Chicken Karaage is your standard fried chicken appetizer taken up a notch. The Chasu ramen is a fine example of their pork-based soup style meal in a bowl and the delicious broth is very flavourful. Other must try dishes include Buta Kimchi and the stir fried chicken lover with chives.
