Azul in Portuguese means 'Blue.' Cafe Azul has a very contemporary décor with a huge fish tank, adding to the 'blue'. The poolside café with an Italian style gives the diner a choice of soaking in the relaxing poolside aura or in air-conditioned comfort away from the heat. It is often remarked that the Mediterranean Sea with its various branches, penetrates far into the vast Continent. Café Azul, at one of the old conceptualised and styled resorts showcasing the 'Old World' of Goa, is an eatery with a panoramic view with blue all around - the sea, the pool and the décor. It gives you a feel of the Mediterranean. Drop in during the day for a light bite and coffee or a cooler. Drop in the late evening for a snack with a spirited mix, the Mojito or the Amchem Goem - now that is a different avatar. Order the Panko Chicken Burger with a Cappuccino for company. Or the Burmese Khao Suey and the vegetarian option - the Khubani ke Kofte. Dumplings of cottage cheese and potato stuffed with apricot, in saffron-flavoured cashew cream gravy served with the layered Lachha Parantha. Wind up with some baked Honey Yoghurt, although the homemade Indian milk desserts Rasmalai and Gulab Jamun are tongue ticklers.
