Perched atop a sand dune on the serene beaches of Benaulim stands Southern Deck run by Ivina Azaredo and Rymer Gomes. The dynamic duo has created a resto-bar/bistro concept with fun and frolic at the heart of it. With bonfires every second night, fireworks every Saturday and Beach futsal on request - the idea and concept originated from their philosophy of not having a mundane dining experience. A breakfast, lunch and dinner restaurant, one can saunter in and relax at the library near the bar whilst they order a drink and wait for an affable company for a game of pool. The restaurant has a wooden feel and is simplistically done. A low seating lounge area, garden area and beach area part of the restaurant and the options for seating. Sample the prawns stuffed with cheese, chilli and crab followed by the chilly honey prawn or chicken fried rice. The Southern Deck special - crispy pork, beef, bacon, squids and prawns, all on a platter is a crowd favourite. For the herbivore in you, a must-have is the stuffed mushrooms with spinach and cheese. Top it off with a triple chocolate mousse cake.
