The regional thali meals of Gujarat and Rajasthan from Ohri’s De Thali have become popular in recent times. The design of the restaurant at Begumpet is based on Rajasthani architecture with marbles, themed windows and appropriate tables and chairs. The place serves standard thalis and has no a-la-carte dishes on its menu. The thali servings are huge and have more than twenty-five diverse items. A generous pouring of 'Chas' along with three types of colourful chutneys, papad and couple of starters start the meal. These are followed by the Rajasthani signature 'Dal Bati Churma'. Other highlights of the thali include three types of dal (the “Kadhi” is especially good) and four sabjis. 'Rasmalai' is the pick of the desserts. A lot of care is taken by the staff in ethnic dresses to see that you are satiated at the end of a meal, frequent visits to refill your dishes.
