The boutique bakery at the ITC Sonar got a makeover last October and the revamped grab-and-go cake shop has its shelves loaded with designer cakes, pastries, quiches and pies. Old favourites such as the double fudge brownie and blueberry cheese cake are fast movers, but take a tip and try the chocolate concord, a slice of dense, gooey chocolate mousse topped with cocoa powder. Besides, there have a fantastic selection of savoury confections such as chicken-filled croissants, chicken curry quiches, paneer shawarma wraps and tuna vol au vent. The in-house boulangerie at Nutmeg stands out. Their selection of artisan breads – everything from German rye bread to Italian Focaccia – is brilliant. Plus, there is a section for muffins, jam-filled doughnuts, loaf cakes (the banana bread is especially good), Danish, croissants and cookies to choose from.
