Once upon a time this was an Italian fine-dining restaurant called Prato. But it was probably ahead of its time and the excellent, authentically-Italian cuisine found few takers. In any case, the Four Seasons had opened without a coffee shop and with only a tiny lobby so the hotel decided to turn Prato into a coffee shop with a more casual ambience and to use the bar as a place where hotel guests could sit and meet visitors. It's a nice enough place if you are in the area and the food is never bad but it's meant more for hotel guests than for outsiders, who are probably better off at the more glamorous San-Qi.
This cafe is amazing. The staff were very attentive, friendly, and quick. The food was fresh and delicious and they would bring out new foods for me to try. The buffet portion have fresh fruits, pastries, cheeses, meats, veggies, and cereals. The menu had a wide selection to choose from and it was made fresh. I highly reccomend this cafe.
During my staying at the hotel, I thoroughly enjoyed every single meal I had at Cafe Prato, where food is done with excellency, be it Mediterranean, local Indian food, or simply a quick bite. The highlight was that Cafe Prato has a range of local specialities on the menu - dishes that you see on most travel guides to Mumbai but would never get from a vendor on the street. Imam and his team took great care of me - my experience was highly customised, as in the sense that my preferences, ranging from how much sugar I take with my tea to how spice I like my food to be, had been taken into consideration not only in the dishes, but also in the recommendations. There wasn’t one dish recommended for me that I did not enjoy. The team was also friendly but chilled - you could have a nice chat with any of them, or be left alone reading your newspaper for a whole hour. I briefly mentioned that I Rasmalai is my favourite dessert, and I got a surprise rasmalai as a departure gift from the nice staffs at cafe Prato. The price might be considered relatively higher than Indian average, but it is rather reasonable for the quality. And Imam makes wonderful chai - simply delightful.
he service provided by the Hotel is really amazing. The employees are courteous and very much helpful. The restaurant has lot of space. Ordered the Alfredo Pasta which was extremely delectable. The best part was the Cheese Cake ordered. The plating was amazing and very delicious. This mouth watering dessert was the focus of the evening. The Christmas decorations during the season was amazing too.
For such an upscale hotel, the Cafe Prato is nothing special. Yes, there is a good breakfast buffet supplemented with menu items. Yes, the atmosphere is pleasant and the service is fine, but somehow something is lacking.
"Variety" is one word to describe BREAKFAST at Four seasons. You name anything and you have it at the counter. Excellent service. Great food.
A long line of hotel coffee shops dominate Mumbai’s fine dining scene. They fight against the assumption that hotel coffee shops are only good for sandwiches or coffee, yet there are places that have become over the years a major crowd-puller. With their exotic international menus and fascinating decors, they are already taking over Mumbai’s fine dining scene. One perfect example of such excellence is ‘Café Prato & Bar’ of Four Seasons Hotel in Worli, Mumbai. This lovely 24X7 coffee shop of this fine hotel used to be a fine dining Italian restaurant but unfortunately it could not garner much response, hence Café Prato & Bar. It’s located at the lobby level of the hotel and is easy to approach. If you want a quiet meal with the family or talk business with a colleague then Café Prato will do beautifully.
Unlike many 24X7 coffee shops, Café Prato & Bar doesn’t waste time on keeping a lavish global menu. Instead it chooses to stick with what it knows best and offer its diners a wonderful array of Italian and Mediterranean menu. Somewhat expensive, Café Prato & Bar woos your senses with a cleverly composed menu, which might not be too generous but is brimming with enough pleasing choices. Ask for a nice bottle of wine to pair your meal. Start with, bacon wrapped seared pacific scallop, Caprese salad, slow roasted vine tomatoes & basil soup and classic grilled chicken Caesar salad. Feast on the delectable mains like, chicken tikka tortilla wrap, pasta puttanesca, oven baked spinach & mushroom pot pie, lobster ravioli, seafood pizza, wild mushroom & black truffle risotto and sea bass en papillote.
After Café Prato & Bar’s gorgeous meal indulge in some sweet concoctions to pamper your sweet tooth with. Devour, salted caramel soup with vanilla cream hemispheres, chocolate hazelnut brownie with honey comb ice cream, almond dacquoise with gianduja cremeux, vanilla pannacotta with berry compote and a selection of homemade ice creams & sorbets. Interiors of Café Prato & Bar are striking looking with dull red furnishings working against pale wooden finishes. Large stunning portraits mounted on the wall attracts your attention instantly. Café Prato & Bar comes with a lovely outdoor space too, so sit there if there is a soothing sea breeze flowing. Stop by anytime for a fulfilling meal. Café Prato will welcome you.
