HRC is a global chain that has two very popular outlets in the city. The space is enormous with a stage for all their live acts along with an enthusiastic DJ that spins great music all through the week. The staff are superbly friendly and helpful and always tapping their feet and dancing around which adds to the fun atmosphere, especially when they have to get up on the bar and dance to the Y-M-C-A. The menu is a mix of appetizers and mains including some Indian inspired dishes but the signature are their burgers that are large enough but come with a mountain of French fries and a side salad. The Tres Leches dessert is delicious and not to be missed.
What started as a vision by a pair of music enthusiasts has turned into one of the most popular chain of themed restaurants in the world. Opened as an eclectic café in Piccadilly, London in 1971, this trendy restaurant found its way to Andheri Lokhandwala, Mumbai some years ago, with a lot of pomp and show, every bit it deserves. Hard Rock Café is a lively fun-loving place where each visit leaves you with a feeling of exhilaration. Presiding in a very prime and superb location, just opposite Yashraj Studios, the café is a buzzing haunt of youngsters and bar hoppers. The mood is always high here, ready to party and enjoy life, elevated by their house DJ who keeps belting out groovy beats all week long. Don’t mistake the place as a pub, it’s actually a family restaurants so get used to seeing noisy children as part of the ambience.
The ambience at this outlet is smilar to what you see at every Hard Rock Café establishment. The space is gigantic with an assortment of sitting options for you to choose from. They have comfy long couches, small polished bar tops, casual chairs and straight-back sofas running with the wall. The cosy furniture set off their exposed brick walls beautifully, lending the place its casual and relaxed atmosphere. Everywhere you look, you will notice cabinets of rock music memorabilia like guitars, vintage costumes, posters, vinyl records and LPD records. It makes for a fascinating study between the lulls in the conversation. Keep an eye out for their events in pipeline, ask for their calendar or check online. If you are looking for some quiet time then visit during lunch time, which is comparatively quieter.
Known for their kickass burgers and a mean bar menu, Hard Rock Café deals into much more than that. Munch onto, original Hard Rock onion rings, rockin’ wings, fish & chips, chili cheese toast, tupelo chicken tenders, honey citrus salad, santa fe spring rolls, paneer shashlik, southern spiced chicken fritter and red hot chili fries as the starters and move onto mains with, grilled basil pesto veg, the big cheese burger, hickory-smoked bar-b-que ribs, grill Jamaican jerk, penne arabiata, southern spice chicken curry, smoked Texas sandwich and barbeque bacon cheese burger. End on a sweet note with, apple cobbler, ice cream, chocolate cake and sinful hot fudge sundae. Expensive but a must visit.
