4.0/5

The 14-year old India Jones at the Trident Hotel is dedicated to traveller Bharat Joyent's (a.k.a India Jones) passion for travel and fine food. The menu trails through dishes from Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and even Japan. There are no buffets or Sunday brunches but they do cater specific set meals in case you are a large group. The menu includes a small section from India featuring dishes like Kerala pepper prawns and even a black pepper pomfret.

Fantastic!

This is a very cool place serving many types of Asian cuisine: Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Thai etc. In the end I opted for the Peking Duck. Wow, that was pretty awesome. One of the better assets of this restaurant though is its staff. All of them were superb. Whenever you find yourself in the Nariman Point area in Mumbai you should eat here. It is that simple.

A perfect Saturday night dinner!!

India Jones is always a pleasure!! We got out round table- 7 of us- had Crispy Corn Kernels and the Potato Starters. For the main course - Homu Phak, Khimchi Rice, Noodles. And the desserts too were delicious- especially the Apple Pie Icecream. Excellent Service- courtesy Ms. Saily Sequira!

Chef edwardo & chef Stefan deserves a great salute..

We stayed in the trident for a week as part of our business trip, and one evening I walked to Indian Jones just to check it out.. Unexpectedly I met chef edwardo and his conversation made us dine over there that night.. We were impressed by his skills and seafood rice was tasty too.. I have to say thanks to chef Stefan for effective handling of guests during breakfast.. He personally visits most of the table and ensure that all the guest needs are delivered.. We could say it because we dined in the same restaurant for breakfast every morning and observed it over and over .. Lastly, not least our waiter Mr Manish, who was very courteous and polite... I really wish chef edwardo and team all the best. And do recommended anyone in this city to give it out a try for chef edwardo's tepaniyaki food... Kind regards Jose Gomez

As exciting as a Spielberg/Lucas production.

So if you decided to take a trip to a 5 star hotel, you wouldn't expect a lot more than the usual bland fare that mark most hotels as homogenous and boring. This however is the goods, the humour hits you as you walk into the well-laid out, gracefully decorated surroundings. The atmosphere is conducive for anything from a special occasion to a solitary dining experience, and I mean experience. I have travelled everywhere from Barbados to Korea and sampled every other cuisine but the service from Damini and her staff to the time and effort taken over the food is simply exceptional. And you know I tell it like it is! Nothing is too much trouble, no realistic request is unanswered. I asked for a vegan meal without mushrooms and was rewarded with a perfect sweet corn soup, I wanted to eat off menu and the chef prepared a perfect combination of Singapore noodles and vegetables with tofu in garlic. None of the flavours overwhelmed, each complemented the other and the single portions were generous to feed 2 people. It was the perfect dining experience. Just remember to ask for the Raj Special!

About India Jones, Trident, Nariman Point

We have a lot to be proud of. Our gastronomy palette has become quite globally advanced, decked up with some of the most exotic cuisines picked from all over the world. One can go as fancy or as humble as they want when dining out in the city and practically every cuisine is presented in a unique fresh manner. If happen to be in Mumbai and have an intense craving for some Asian food then without giving further thought book a table at ‘India Jones’ right away. The restaurant is counted amongst the top dining destinations in the city when it comes to soulful Asian cuisine. It is part of gorgeous Trident Hotel, presiding at Nariman Point, basking in the joy of having most important locations in Mumbai.

India Jones is a tribute to Indian traveller Bharat Joyent (a.k.a India Jones) and his travels so it’s not much of surprise that the menu travels a bit too, handpicking dishes from Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Japan. Their Korean set lunch menu is one of their popular attractions with the businessmen, often seen power lunching at the same time. Begin your journey with appetizers like, golden fried prawns, edamame, zha xia giu, som tom salad, Malaysian satay, nonya dumpling, yakitori, tom yam gung, Singapore style popiah, crisp corn kernels, Sichuan silken tofu, naumai flang le pikthai and chicken teriyaki. You can even select your catch from their live fish tank and have them prepare it the way you want. Their selection of main course is fabulous, Beijing ya, penang curry, spicy nonya prawns, tangra chicken, homok phak, sambal udang, traditional grilled lobster and wok fried Kerala crab.

In desserts make do with baked Alaska cake and we assure you, you won’t be disappointed. As you step across the threshold, you will find India Jones to be a pleasing and classy sight, created entirely out of wooden textures. The look is contemporary and edgy. Formal tables are added for proper sit-down dining. In way of décor you will find the walls papered with Japanese symbols, which goes a long way into re-emphasising the Asian theme. Don’t mistake, India Jones is an expensive place but if you want authenticity and class then there is no place better. The overall look is elegant, exotic and quite global.
