Kebab Korner is a very special restaurant as the recipes of the dishes served have been handed down through generations of family Chefs. The restaurant specialises in rich North Indian cuisine and any meal here is a regal affair. The restaurant was recently revamped and with its big comfortable arm chairs, ornate decorated windows that remind you of intricate lattice work really makes you feel like you are dining in a mahal or palace somewhere in the North. This royal treatment is extended with their courteous service and wonderfully rich food. The highlight of course being their kababs.
Food is bad. Service - could be better Ambience - satisfactory. One plus point is that there are live ghazals
Our family of 9, including a toddler of 4+, decided to visit Kebab Corner for dinner on Aug 10, 2019. Reservation was made, courtesy EazyDiner for 7.30pm. A curt text message conveyed to us that the table reservation shall be released at 7.40pm if we were not physically present at the restaurant. A 50% discount on food and beverages (incl alcohol) was offered. First, long delay in serving the order. Second, incorrect order served. For starters, we got lamb kakori kebabs instead of chicken kakori; instead of afghani kebabs we got tandoori chicken, served after 60 minutes of the order. On inquiry, the server conveyed to us that the tandoori chicken was "burnt" whilst cooking in the tandoor, the first time. When I corrected him that we had ordered afghani kebabs, he denied vehemently. I did not object further as the guest at the table agreed to being served tandoori chicken. For the mains, instead of chokani baigan, to our utter surprise, we were served bhartha. Objection over ruled by the server. Long delays...management trying the patience of the guests. Or was it that they were dissuading and discouraging guest bookings from EazyDiner. This appeared to be the most plausible justification...wake up EazyDiner. After the senior lady within our group went up and complained, service started to improve. At the end of the meal, a nice cake was served with an engraved message with an apology for all mistakes committed. Additionally, four mini platters of assorted Indian desserts were served. Does this make up for all what went wrong????? I am debating. I had extremely fond memories of Kebab Korner, which were shattered today. Long distance management does not work in the hospitality sector. Promoters, please take note. Al vida, Kebab Korner
WOW. If you are in Mumbai, must try this restaurant. I stay here at the Intercontinental but still have options to go out and try other restaurants, which I may today. But last night it was a great treat. Trust me I travelled all over the world, tried all dishes. But this prawn dish was sumptuous. Try it sometimes.
The food ok but each dish took around 25 mins to come. Service of the lowest possible standards. No concept of service or food and beverage. Intercontinental should review its options with this property.
Nice Ambience Personalized service and Yummy food made the lunch at Kebab Korner a memorable treat! Would definetly come again.
When considering the ambience aspect of North Indian restaurants in Mumbai you will find them dime a dozen so it takes something really clever or outstanding to separate the one from the other. Many chefs have tried to play with the menu in hopes of glamourizing it or do something fantastic with the décor to pull the patrons in, but most of the time it all falls flat. Stepping away from the conventional approach of North Indian restaurants, ‘Kebab Korner’ is like a breath of fresh air in the city packed with monotonous visions. Housed under the glitzy Hotel InterContinental in Churchgate, Mumbai, the restaurant pulls a lot of clientele through its cleverly crafted menu and charming décor. It is a good space to host an intimate dinner party or even take along a foreign guest to flaunt the city’s fine dining.
The forte of Kebab Korner lies not only in its curries but its kebabs as well. You will find them to be mouth-watering and painstakingly melt-in-your-mouth. Throw in a couple of buttery naans to fully enjoy the fare. North Indian and Mughlai seems to be their calling here. Order a refreshing beer or a serving of scotch to marry your meal first. Start with, makkai roti tacos, zimikand chips, tandoori murgh, Haleem ke kebab, kakori kebab, khalli ke aloo, butter garlic tandoori jhinga, sweet potato ragda, moong dal pops and murgh tikka methi malai. Relish curries like, American corn kadhi, anardana lobster, matter vadi ki khichdi, martaban rogan mutton curry, paneer tikka masala, martaban amritsari chole, zardaloo keema kaleji and bharwan mirchi.
At Kebab Korner you get to savour Indian cuisine in a new refreshing manner. Though the comforts of the curry are the same but they have played with ingredients in a creative manner. The menu is the perfect foil to the surroundings. The interiors of Kebab Korner are made in such a way that it blends together modern aesthetics with traditional essence. Soft pastel shades are used to uplift the room in their upholstery like peach and china blue, setting off beautifully against their latticed screen windows. A striking chandelier made of out of beaten copper pans catches the eye instantly. Ornate gilded mirrors and latticed metal lamps adds a romantic flair to the décor. Ask to be seated in their private dining area if you are part of a large group. Kebab Korner is pricey.
