The Long & Short is an elegant yet fun gastro-pub at the Intercontinental hotel. It has a lovely balcony where you can sit out and enjoy the Marine Drive’s view and of course the sea. The décor is subtle black and white with a long bar on one side and a wall filled with funny almost kitschy curios, all themed around the city of Mumbai. The menu is a mix of popular street food dishes from across the globe including some local favourites that have their special tweaks.
The quality of a hotel depends upon the service and hospitality they provide. This hotel kinda tops the list of humiliating their customers. Very unwelcoming. Very arrogant. Very unprofessional! Confirmed the table with us and pretended to cancel it without prior knowledge! We got our kids and family to that place and they tell us that they have cancelled it, While the app still showed that the table is confirmed. Who are you to cancel it? Waitlist is a different thing and so is “Table Confirmed” and the staff really needs to learn the difference between the two. The restaurant took no charge of the same and said we don’t have a table. Who are you to tell us you can’t sit? Or you can’t eat here? Besides the staff also needs to stop manipulating the customers, and making their rules of reservation. We were not even offered to Wait. When we told them that we are already here and ready to wait. We were still asked to wait for 45mins more while we were still done waiting for good half an hour. They had a 4 seater table available and we were ready to adjust the kids. They’ve done this twice. It was my fathers birthday the first time and then today was my sisters birthday. Seems to be a fool to even consider this place for any occasion in the first place. Mood spoiler. Feels sorry to say that your place and people are too confident with your service and food. Get a reality check maybe? Telling people you can’t eat because you’ll are sold out while still accepting reservations? Are we fools to travel to your hotel all the way? Telling people we have cancelled your reservation? I mean really, that’s how you are trained to work. Who gave you the right to do that? Instead of being sorry, I get “I don’t have a table” with an attitude? Can’t handle associations, Don’t do it. Don’t hype it & Don’t insult people and spoil the mood who are coming in to have a good time.
Again, an excellent restaurant with a varied menu…great breakfast dishes..and staff alike.. 6am to 11...give me a choice of late breakfast. Try the plain Dosa..
Long & Short - Intercontinental. Intercontinental Marine drive offers intmate modern hospitality alongside sweeping views of the Arabian sea, over the weekend a friend suggested this place called " Long & Short " the name which sounded pretty fun. Long & short is an elegant yet fun gastro-pub located at the first floor of intercontinental hotel. Terrace bars in Bombay are few and far between so when my friend suggested me this place for a nice sunday brunch I was pretty excited as he could not stop raving about the place and the spread. As soon as I entered I was mezmerize was the view, it's the view that I have driven pass many times but it looked prettier from top, you can see the city of dreams moving while you sip on some chill beer in the cozy and neat ambiance that long and short offers. The decor is mainly dominated by the subtle black and white with a long bar on one side and a wall filled with photos themed around Bombay. As soon as I entered to experience the Sunday brunch I was welcomed with bright smiling faces and food all around me. You name it and they have it in the spread. The spread is good for the price they offer at. 1900+ taxes non alcoholic brunch and 2500+ taxes for the alcoholic brunch. The brunch does not get over just at long and short, you can go and bing onto the Indian section which they have laid at kebab Korner which is next door. They have live counters of pastas , kheema pav , Chaats, paprika roast chicken and jalebi. While they were serving starters like saundhe aloo, Turkish meat balls, murg malai kebab , flatbread chicken Hawaiian pizza to name a view from the kitchen. They also had South Indian delicacies like mini uttapams, plain dosa with sambhar and chutneys. You can order the types of eggs you would like to have. Overall an experience that I would love to have often, this brunch has been added to my " Favorite Sunday brunch places "
When a friend suggested this place on the first floor In intercontinental, I wondered what can be that great about it. It was the same view we drive by everyday. Well, what I missed was that we don't get to sit there. Nonetheless, we don't really get a nice chilled beer and some nice cozy seats with an ambience to enjoy it either. Once you enter, you are greeted by a nice lady at the reception who guides you to where you can be seated leaving you with someone to Serve you some delicacies. They have a nice laid up bar with beer on tap such as bira and juicers and a coffee machine. The inside seating has a huge window which lets you take a feel of the undivided sea view in peace accompanied by some lounge music in a nicely chilled environment. It doesn't really end here, you can move out further in to the open air section which is actually the Real Deal! The moment you open the heavy doors which are being pushed by natures winds, you are greeted by some really nice wind. As I told you, we see this view everyday. But it's a different experience from above the ground. Your above the hustle and noisy cars and random people walking around. All you can see in front of you is the undivided sea view and the beautiful marine drive right up to both ends. I'd love to laze an entire day here and do nothing. The service is quite slow keeping in mind we ordered beers. But we were not complaining because the ambience was enough to take our time. What really turned us down was that we ordered a cold coffee. It came after nearly 25 minutes. It was more milk, there was barely any coffee and it was filled with sugar. Not really what you would expect from a well trained chief, would you? We did send it back for correction. Close to similar results. Eventually, we just ended up cancelling it. What a let down, one person did get to enjoy the view but while we all enjoyed beers, she had to just sit and wait for her drink which she did not end up getting.
Nice place to hang out, outdoor sitting is recommended. Sea view. Food is average with average rated service quality. Polite staff.
Mumbai just keeps getting better and better, every time we take a peek at some new entrant on the city’s fabulous dining scene. Tap into the splendour of Mumbai’s gourmet circuit by trying out all those splendid eateries that highlights on our foodie map. Joining the long queue is an epicurean favourite. This place is the perfect blend of class and quirky, bought together by one interesting name ‘Long & Short’. Part of glamourous Intercontinental Hotel, placed on famous Marine Drive in Churchgate, Long & Short can be a lovely addition to Mumbai’s nightlife must visits. Its location itself earns it major cool points, not to mention exquisite interiors and simply jaw-dropping menu. Kids are welcome, which is a plus. Slip outdoors to their charming balcony, from where you can drink in the gorgeous view of the sea.
Long & Short is an elegant gastro-pub with a quirky soul. Don’t be misled by its neat posh interiors, it’s as eccentric and fun as it can get. This all-day dining outfit remains open till midnight from very early hours, catering to the night crawlers and early birds. Its menu is international ranging from European to Italian to North Indian to American to Mediterranean to Continental. You are in for a lip-smacking exhaustive culinary ride. Begin with a nice innovative drink and then move onto the appetizers like, wasabi rock prawns, cheese soufflé, beer batter fish & chips, meat overload sliders, chicken tikka meat balls skewers and tawa mutton keema pao. Dig into the main course of, smoked chicken penne, Chiang mai crisp pizza, creole spiced seafood thermidor and Peruvian-style roast chicken.
Round off the evening on a sweet note. Tuck into their, flourless chocolate cake, salted caramel oreo tart, warm mudpie cake, low fat frozen yogurt, varhona 72% chocolate fondant, sugar free waffles and B&R sundae bar. The food is innovative and refreshing perspective on classic fares. The look of the gastro-pub is drastically different from day to night. In the day it seems like a classy lounge but in evenings the vibe is cosier and intimate. The colour palette is black & white, the only visual relief coming from ochre coloured cushions placed on plush couches. Windows bring in the abundance of sunlight, throwing soft glow on the long bar on one side. Long & Short is expensive.
