This modern Izakaya restaurant, with minimalist décor, attractive design elements and varied seating options, spells comfort and elegance all the way. The brightly lit bar at the entrance is hard-to-miss. The menu offers Japanese cuisine with several vegetarian options. No sushi here though. Start with 'Chicken Supreme' with a Wasabi Kewpie and the 'Togarashi Dusted Chicken Wings with a Yuzu Kasundi Dip', from the ‘Yakitori’ section. While the cooking techniques are strictly Japanese, Chef Lakhan plays around with flavours in terms of using some local Indian ingredients to pack a punch. The 'Chicken Karaage Bao' with Yuzu Kasundi Mayo, Green Garlic, Togarashi, Bao Sauce, is a delight for the taste buds and well-executed. Sans gimmicks, the chef seamlessly blends the flavours without disturbing the Japanese touch in these dishes, thereby displaying his mastery. Carnivores will relish the 'Sapporo Ramen', a miso-based broth, with Ajitsuke eggs, pork chasu, citrus chilli oil. For vegetarians, there is the 'Tofu and Shitake Ramen', which is equally flavourful. True to Japanese cuisine, the ingredients are the hero and shine through effortlessly in each dish. The 'Chocolate Zen' is a dessert you must not miss. The service here is prompt and efficient.
