A restrained, yet electrifying energy pervades this plush new restaurant. The red sofas, pitted against the wooden tables and ring curtains, add a pop of colour to the otherwise, elegant and muted interiors. The bar, running through the length of the restaurant, waiting to swing into action, is attractive. The global menu, with modern food, is all about flavours and not characterised by the usual sections, but seamlessly blends into one. The emphasis on local ingredients is evident. There are sufficient vegetarian options. Crusty in-house breads do the rounds and the sourdough and ciabatta with a dollop of clarified butter, on a bed of seeds, are fresh. The ambat-gode (sour-sweet) flavours, which underline Rahul Akerkar’s food philosophy, shine through effortlessly. The 'Roast Chicken' with root vegetables, again exhibits an interesting interplay of flavours. The pizza offerings here are a must-try. The service is impeccable and the staff well-trained, albeit a bit inarticulate.
