About Saffron Spice, Powai, Central Mumbai
There may be dime a dozen North Indian restaurants in Mumbai but we assure you they have not lost their importance. We still find North Indian menus one of the most satisfying and best out of all. The city may be brimming with them but each of the joints has its own unique flavours that carry them apart. New found crops of chefs are doing their best to modernise the cuisine and pull it out of its old-fashioned mould but many chefs still practice the authentic traditional integrity of the cuisine. Counted as an authentic and timeless sort of place, ‘Saffron Spice’ is a world in itself. The restaurant is part of the sector which never changes and remains the part of your good food memories. It is a place designed for families and group of friends who want to spend quality time with each other without being bound by money.
Saffron Spice shares three outlets in the city and in all popular spots. There is one in Kalyan and the others in Mahakali and Powai. All three outlets are the major haunts for families and large groups of diners who find the restaurant ideal due to its affordability. The décor of Saffron Spice has not grown with time. It still maintains the look of the 90’s when dark colours and heavy upholstery was in fashion. The same appeal is repeated here. There is nothing trendy or striking at Saffron Spice but what you will get here is comfort, nostalgia, traditional and a forgotten elegance that seems to be the USP of the place. Regulars seem to like the appearance on offer and do not mind coming again and again to a place which guarantees good food at budget-friendly prices.
Menu of Saffron Spice is an interesting one. Although one might expect to find only North Indian food here, they are surprised to see some Chinese and Continental dishes here as well. Start experiencing the menu with appetizers such as hara bhara kabab, masala fried fish, paneer soti boti, Zafrani prawns, khumb makai chatpatta, chutneywali macchi, tangri hariyali and tandoori mushroom. Do sample Zafrani kofta, Kerala roast chicken, Goan fish curry, chicken chettinad, madira gosht, murgh Akbari, methi mutter malai, Lahori murg and kadai gosht.
