The Trattoria was the first restaurant the Taj Group launched after taking over the President. In that avatar, it had Irani-restaurant chairs, and Italian-style checked table-cloths. It also took the then unprecedented step of merging a speciality restaurant with a 24-hour coffee-shop.Since that era, the restaurant has gone considerably upmarket (it even had Wagyu beef and foie gras on the menu till changes to the laws made it impossible to serve them). But its claim to fame still rests on the pizzas and the pastas.It helps that it has the lowest prices of any speciality restaurant in a Bombay five-star hotel because the principle is to operate on a low margin-high turnover basis.
Just want to share a Wonderful time we had at Trattoria, Taj Vivanta at Cuffe Parade in Mumbai. The food here is absolutely authentic and delicious...... the ambience has a very Happy vibe..... the service is excellent..... would specially like to name Anthony, Christopher, Shekharan, Priya and Krishnan who served us with so much warmth. All together a truly great experience!!

inspite of having a sub par experiance with food - I gave trats 5 stars. I can understand that sometimes chefs have bad days - as a customer I expect them to atleast own up and try and compensate the customer - the head chef himself calling up and taking responsibility proves how dedicated the taj team is... Taj earned a lot of respect from me
I ordered one pizza and it had nothing to do with what expected from an Italian restaurant. In my opinion they should remove them from their menu until they get a wood oven.
